Building your budget wisely
The biggest costs in a renovation are often in things you won't see afterwards: installations, structure and substrates. Cutting back on these rarely pays off.
Saving smartly
- Combine work in one schedule: demolish once, finish once.
- Choose tiles in standard sizes and mid-range sanitary ware.
- Keep budget for finishing: doors, skirting boards and lighting determine whether the house really feels finished.
- Keep a 10–15% reserve for unforeseen costs, especially in older homes.
