About floor laying

A beautiful floor starts with the subfloor and a laying plan that suits the room. MVBouw lays PVC, wooden and herringbone floors and takes care of the agreed preparation and finishing. During the site visit we look at the existing floor, height differences, door openings and transitions to other rooms. Skirting boards and the combination with underfloor heating are also discussed. It helps if you already have examples of a colour or laying pattern, but we discuss technical suitability before the material is finally chosen.

What does it cost?

The price depends on the floor area, the subfloor, the laying pattern, the material and the skirting boards.

A price per square metre for laying alone does not tell you what the complete floor will cost. Removing the old floor, repairs, levelling, the laying pattern and skirting boards can be separate jobs. When you send your request, please state the floor area and the material you would like. Also let us know whether the home is empty. After assessing the subfloor, we make clear which preparation and finishing are included in the quote.

Does my subfloor need to be adjusted first?

That depends on the existing subfloor and the chosen flooring system. During the site visit we check the flatness and condition of the floor; moisture and any old adhesive residue can also be relevant. A photo alone is usually not enough to determine the preparation definitively. We prepare the subfloor to meet the requirements of the chosen product. That way, any necessary repairs and preparatory work are included before the new floor is laid.

Can my new floor go on top of underfloor heating?

We check this for the chosen combination of floor, adhesive or underlay and heating system. Not every product has the same requirements. Please send the product information if you have already selected the floor. We also discuss the order of levelling, drying and laying, and the instructions for switching on the heating. This way the work can be aligned with the suppliers' instructions and the existing situation in your home.
